Garlicky, lemony, with a slightly sweet, umami flavor, Lemon Butter Miso Shrimp comes together in about five minutes so make sure to have everything prepped along with whatever you’re going to serve with the shrimp ready. As an appetizer I like to serve warm crusty bread for dunking into the lemony miso sauce. As a main, serve with steamed jasmine rice and green beans or broccoli. I’ve used tiger shrimp (prawns) for their crisp bite and their sweet shrimp flavor but use whatever shrimp you prefer or can find, just make sure they’re jumbo and they’re raw.
Lemon Butter Miso Shrimp is a bit of a chameleon going from a simple and very quick starter to, with a little more effort, a main atop some steamed jasmine rice and broccoli anointed with butter. And while it’s perfect for something a little more upscale when cooking for a Friday night love-in or a friend’s get-together, it’s so quick why not make it just because it’s Monday…or Wednesday.
I love shrimp for their convenience – speedy cooking time, quick and easy to prepare. Here are a few of my favorites: Honey Chili Shrimp Noodles; Coconut Shrimp & Pineapple Chutney; 15-Minute Chili Shrimp Pasta.
