Individual tiramisu come together in a snap and are so easy to make. And although they still require some fridge time to set, the prep part is so simple. Plus I rather like the individual tiramisu rather than one big brick-like one. So much prettier. The recipe will easily double or triple for a crowd and really, because of its ease, does make a perfect larger-gathering dessert. Just keep in mind, this is a boozy dessert so not suitable for young kiddos and anyone driving.
Jump to RecipeYou’re going to need some Savoiardi biscuits/cookies for this recipe. This part is important. You can find them in most grocery stores, perhaps try the international aisle or order them on Amazon, you get four packets in one, each one is enough to make this recipe.
You’ll also need some good, strong coffee – preferably espresso – I make mine with an espresso machine but French pressed coffee would also be fine, it needs to be robust. Then there’s Kahlúa, a coffee flavored liqueur from Mexico. Marsala, is a fortified wine used in Italian cooking. And mascarpone, found in the deli section of most supermarkets. Don’t substitute and don’t scrimp. This recipe has very few ingredients so please use the ones listed. If you can’t find some of the ingredients or don’t want to use them, then maybe find a different dessert to make. This Quick and Easy Tiramisu recipe relies on each ingredient to make the final result a memorable one. White Chocolate Coffee Cheesecake is also decadent a make-ahead if you’re looking for another dessert options for the hols.
Although I’ve said to give these four hours to sit in the fridge before serving, in a pinch 2 hours would probably be fine. I like to mix the glasses up as long as the capacity is roughly the same. I haven’t really specified the size of the glasses, I used a stemless martini glass and plain, straight-side glasses that would be about 1-cup capacity, a little larger wouldn’t hurt. I greedily eat these up. Booze-spike mascarpone and boozy cookies, I mean, what’s not to love?
QUICK AND EASY TIRAMISU
Equipment
- 4 x martini or other such glasses
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup strong black coffee
- 1/3 cup Kahlua coffee flavored liqueur
- 12 lady finger cookies (savoiardi biscuitsi)
- 3/4 whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup marsala
- 8 oz mascarpone
- Cocoa for dusting
Instructions
- Combine the coffee and liqueur. Snap the cookies in half. Dip each piece in the coffee mixture – hang onto the cookie and make sure it soaks up as much of the liquid as possible. Place 3 halves in the bottom of 4 glasses, pressing into the bottom of the glasses so the pieces fit.
- Beat the cream in a medium bowl until soft peaks form. Add the sugar and marsala and beat until billowy – about 30 seconds. Add the mascarpone and beat until well combined.
- Dollop half of the cream mixture between glasses. Add another layer of coffee-mixture soaked biscuits. Spoon the remaining cream mixture on top of the biscuit layer. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 4 hours or overnight if time permits. Finish with a dusting of cocoa just before serving.
